Striped Bass

Striped Bass Sportfishing on the Chesapeake Bay

Striped bass, also referred to as rockfish, are the top recreational sportfish in the Chesapeake Bay. Early morning or evening are the ideal times to fish for these delicious creatures as long as the tide is moving.  The use of topwater lures is the most entertaining way to attract the Striped Bass.  Trolling is another method to lure your Striped Bass but you may also attract a Bluefish or Spanish Mackerel with this method. The use of small spoons, bucktails & surge tubes with planers & inline weights is optimal for rockfish sportfishing around the middle region of the Chesapeake Bay.  Light tackle fishing is another method to entice a Chesapeake Striped Bass while chumming and live lining with spot is still viable in points of the upper Chesapeake Bay while on our Chesapeake Bay fishing charters.

Myself and 5 other adults had a great experience on the Penny Sue 6 hour charter. We caught 9 and kept 8 Rockfish in total. We had a very yummy feast later that afternoon. Captain Mike and his 1st mate we’re a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommend.

Chartered a 1/2 day outing for my husband and kids. He had a great morning on the Bay and absolutely loved the trip. Captain Mike took them right to the fish and everyone was successful at bringing in a catch
